Through the dedicated efforts of CHS South's Transition Team, we're committed to ensuring a smooth and confident transition for Year 6 students from our partner primary schools to secondary school. Our specialist teachers collaborate with primary school teachers throughout Key Stage 2, engaging students in exciting projects that familiarise them with our school environment.
By the time they reach Year 7, most students from our partner primary schools will already be acquainted with their teachers and have a taste of our school experience.
In the summer term of Year 6, our Transition Team pays visits to primary schools, working closely with teachers and introducing student life at CHS South. Additionally, all Year 6 students will be invited to our 'Induction Day' on Thursday 4th July 2024, where they will partake in lessons, meet some of their future teachers, and forge new friendships.
Furthermore, parents/carers are also invited to an 'Induction Evening' on the same date to meet staff, learn about ways they can participate in school activities, and address any concerns about the transition to secondary school. More details to come!
