Year 7 Foundations

At CHS South, our school experience is underpinned by the CHS South Qualities of Success—essential qualities and skills that we aim for every student to develop as they progress with us. We believe that by embodying these qualities, our students will be creative, happy, and successful both now and in the future. In Year 7, students will develop their understanding of these skills across all aspects of their learning.

They will also be recognised for their contributions in these areas through a series of half-termly pastoral challenges to achieve the following badges:

• Badge 1: I embrace life and prepare to succeed.
• Badge 2: I support my community and make a difference to it.
• Badge 3: I explore life. I take a deep breath, go for it, and respond to it with imagination.
• Badge 4: I own my actions. I understand my actions.
• Badge 5: I hone my skills. If I fall down, I get up, I try again.
• Badge 6: I want the best. I am the best.

These badges encourage Year 7 students to engage with their learning, build resilience, and take pride in their progress throughout the year.
