CHS South is a centre of excellence for the arts and our vision is based on the belief that creativity is a vital component of lifelong learning. We cultivate creativity and imagination throughout the whole school curriculum to enable our students to discover and explore; problem solve and take risks; visualise the future and achieve with confidence.
At CHS South, we believe that extra-curricular activities are vital in developing skills and qualities that underpin all career paths and future success. Our Arts College origins allow us to provide high-quality Arts education for our students and the local community, enriched by masterclasses, workshops, and tutorials led by professional and nationally renowned groups.
We aim to nurture and develop each student by offering a range of enrichment activities. These activities foster creativity, widen experiences, and open new horizons, helping students discover talents, passions, and interests they may not have considered before.
Extra-curricular activities are an exciting feature of school life, contributing enormously to our students’ social and academic development. We offer an extensive menu of free activities, including workshops, field trips, and research opportunities. Additionally, students can experience diverse cultures through national and international trips and visits to educational venues linked to curricular areas.
CHS South is building an impressive reputation for excellence in sports and the Arts. Our students benefit from working with professional coaches and artists, regularly participating in competitions and tournaments at citywide and regional levels. The Arts thrive with students accessing and experiencing a broad range of art forms at the highest level, performing, and exhibiting their work both in school and professional venues across the city.
We define our global community locally, nationally, and internationally. We encourage students to become global citizens by providing learning opportunities that develop their international identity and equip them for life in a global society and economy. Through the Prospere Learning Trust, we have strong community links, allowing students to work with local groups and charities. The Trust proudly holds the International Schools Award and is committed to developing CHS South students as global citizens.
