A group of our students recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to the Central Library as part of CHS South's Reading Reward Programme. The trip was a celebration of their commitment to reading and an opportunity to explore one of the city’s most important literary hubs.
During their visit, the students were given a special tour led by Angela Rawcliffe, who shared fascinating insights about the library’s vast collection, its history, and the many services it offers. The students were captivated by the behind-the-scenes look into how such an important public resource operates.
To round off the day, the students participated in a creative book-making session. This hands-on activity allowed them to engage their imaginations and create their very own books, taking home a unique reminder of their visit.
The trip not only celebrated the students' achievements in reading but also encouraged them to continue exploring and enjoying literature beyond the classroom.
At CHS South, we are committed to promoting a love of reading and providing rewarding experiences that align with our core values of being Ready, Respectful, and Safe. This trip was a great opportunity for students to see the value of reading and creativity in the wider world.
